The return of a guaranteed investment, the freedom of a TFSA
Too many savers leave their TFSA sitting in an account that earns very little. Our TFSA savings account combines a competitive rate, complete security and the personal service of a local portfolio manager.
A rate that stands out
2.85% to 3.25% per year, guaranteed. The more capital you entrust to McLean Capital, the higher your rate.
No market risk
Your principal is guaranteed and your rate is known from day one. No surprises when the stock market moves.
Zero tax, forever
Interest earned in a TFSA is never taxed, even on withdrawal. It does not affect your Old Age Security pension or the Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Your account, your name
The account is opened in your name at Laurentian Bank Securities. McLean Capital manages it, but your money is never held by us.
Turnkey transfer
TFSA held elsewhere? We prepare the paperwork and follow up on the direct transfer, with no impact on your contribution room.
A real person on the line
A Laval team that answers in English or French, knows your file and advises you on all your savings: TFSA, RRSP, RRIF and more.
Your TFSA is in your name, at Laurentian Bank Securities
When you open your TFSA savings account with us, the account is opened in your name at Laurentian Bank Securities, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank, a financial institution established in Quebec since 1846.
McLean Capital acts as portfolio manager: we select the guaranteed investments and monitor your account, but we never hold your money. You receive your statements directly from Laurentian Bank Securities and can view your account at any time.
It is the same structure used by wealthy families and institutional investors: an independent manager, and a solid custodian that safeguards the assets.
You are the sole holder of the TFSA.
A dealer member of CIRO and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF).

Everything about the TFSA savings account
What rate does your TFSA savings account pay?
The guaranteed rate ranges from 2.85% to 3.25% per year, depending on the total amount you invest with McLean Capital. The larger the amount, the better the rate. Interest earned in a TFSA is completely tax-free.
Whose name is the TFSA account in?
The account is opened in your name at Laurentian Bank Securities, a dealer that is a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF). McLean Capital manages the account but never holds your money.
Is my principal guaranteed?
Yes. Funds are placed in guaranteed products: your principal is protected and the rate is set in advance. You know exactly what your TFSA will earn.
How much can I contribute to my TFSA in 2026?
The annual limit is $7,000 in 2026. Someone who was 18 in 2009 and has never contributed has $109,000 of cumulative contribution room. Unused room carries forward indefinitely, and withdrawals are added back to your room the following year. Your exact room is shown in your Canada Revenue Agency My Account.
Can I transfer my TFSA from another institution?
Yes. A direct institution-to-institution transfer has no impact on your contribution room and triggers no tax. We complete the forms and follow up with your current institution. Avoid withdrawing the money yourself to redeposit it: that could create an over-contribution.
What is the difference between a TFSA and an RRSP?
RRSP contributions are tax-deductible but withdrawals are taxable. TFSA contributions are not deductible, but all income and withdrawals are tax-free and do not affect Old Age Security or the Guaranteed Income Supplement. For retirees, a TFSA is often the ideal place to keep safe, accessible savings.
